Roku® Streaming Stick™ 4K

I bought a Roku stick about 9 months ago and it already has major problems. It acted up a bit when I first got it, and over the past 9 months, it has repeatedly caused disruptions in any and all of the apps that I have on my tv. My internet signal strength is always "Excellent" but the tv has interruptions, buffering, or even an app will completely end. During these times, my laptop is unaffected. I would advise people to carefully check with people who actually use this item, but from my experience, I would not recommend a Roku Streaming Stick to anyone. I just ordered a different brand and expect much better service then what I've experienced for all of 2026.

I have been using ROKU for over 5 years. We love it! Turned my non smart TV into a smart TV, and use it on my newer models also. We have bought ROKU sticks for family and friends as Christmas presents. They all were really excited, after learning how to operate, which is very simple, they all committed, BEST PRESENT EVER. Great product. Will keep all our TV`s, ROKU ON.

I've had this device for a couple years now. When I first got it the HDCP error kept coming up so I bought expensive cable, problem continued. So then I bought a brand new home theatre receiver result HDCP errors every hour or so. Not to mention the apps freezing up all of the time. I'm convinced that the streaming sticks are not powerful enough to handle the apps and the hdmi end of the stick just plain sucks for 4K.

These are absolutely terrible for live 4K HDR content. They flash/blink when switching between camera angles to where it's unwatchable. Buy the Ultra don't waste your money. Roku support is also terrible. I've had ticket 13193917 open since 2025 to rectify this issue. They keep giving me the run around even though they are aware of this issue reported by others.

I had my Roku Ultra for the past 3 years and still woks flawlessly. I found a Roku soundbar dumped on the street months ago, took it home and it works. My daughter uses it in her bedroom and the sound is powerful. Found another Roku, the 4K+ stick from a neighbors recycling stash yesterday and took it home and connected it, still works. Got 2 free Roku players in a year!

The actual streaming stick itself is great. A lot of apps are broadcasting in 4K, especially YouTube videos. This stick is easy to install, just plug in to an existing HDMI port on your TV and connect the stick's USB power port to your TV's USB port (if it has one, mine does) with the supplied USB cable and there you go. However, this is why I gave this stick only 2 stars. The remote *LOVES* batteries!!! I bought this back in May 2025 and so far I've had to replace the batteries in the remove FOUR TIMES!! It's on the fourth set right now. And I don't even use the voice feature to open any apps. In fact I have that disabled. And it *STILL* eats batteries. I have three Roku Express devices (Master Bedroom, Office and Hobby Room) and those remotes don't even come close to eating batteries like this remote does. Heck I don't even remember the last time I changed those batteries. Unless Roku does something to improve the battery life in the Streaming Stick 4K's remove, I really cannot in good conscious recommend this to anyone.

Finally, I can watch all my favorite movie on my non smart TV! Awesome! It was really easy to set up! Thanks Roku!
