What is Roku Backdrops?

Roku Backdrops allows you to display a gallery of art and photography directly on your TV when you’re not streaming. And with thousands of free 4K photographs and works of art to choose from, it’s easier than ever to enhance your space.

How do I activate Roku Backdrops?

Enable Backdrops by finding the app on your device or searching for it. Once you’re in the app, browse through thousands of images, select a collection or image you like, and choose “Set as backdrop.” Backdrops will then automatically activate when your Roku device is idle.

What devices support Roku Backdrops?

Backdrops are available on select Roku TV models starting fall 2024, with additional supported devices coming soon!

What resolution and format should my photos be in for the best results?

For the best display quality (and that real gallery feel), use high-resolution photos in JPG or PNG format. Ensure that the resolution matches or exceeds your TV’s resolution to avoid any pixelation.
