The best fictional TV Presidents

Happy Presidents’ Day streamers! While we celebrate U.S. Presidents today, we’re taking this opportunity to rank our favorite fictional TV Presidents (and to challenge you to stream your faves over the three-day weekend!). In the mood for movie Presidents instead? Check out our list of the best fictional movie Presidents here.

Who’s the best TV President? Did we miss anyone on this list? Let us know in the comments below!

6. Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey), House of Cards | Available to stream on Netflix.

He’s the President that everyone loves to hate. Through lies and deceit, Frank schemed and manipulated his way into becoming the President of the United States.

5. Fitzgerald Grant III (Tony Goldwyn), Scandal | Available to stream on ABC, Netflix, Vudu, FandangoNOW, Amazon Video, and Google Play.

From affairs to election-rigging, President Fitzgerald is no stranger to scandals. Fitz + Olivia Pope = must watch TV.

4. Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland), Designated Survivor | Available to stream on ABC, Hulu, Vudu, FandangoNOW, and Amazon Video.

When a terrorist attack leaves the President and every member of his cabinet dead, Tom Kirkman is immediately sworn in as President. Seriously, who doesn’t love Kiefer as a President?!

3. Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell), Battlestar Galactica | Available to stream on Hulu, Vudu, FandangoNOW, Amazon Video, and Google Play.

Much like Tom Kirkman, Laura Roslin goes from being a fairly low level position to suddenly being President of the Twelve Colonies when she’s the highest active ranking official left alive after a nuclear attack.

2. David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), 24 | Available to stream on Vudu, FandangoNOW, and Amazon Video.

Was there any President on TV who had to lead the nation through more crises than David Palmer? He did an honorable job in making critical decisions to aid the CTU and leading the nation for four years (with the help of Jack Bauer of course).

1. Josiah ‘Jed’ Bartlet (Martin Sheen), The West Wing | Available to stream on Netflix, Vudu, FandangoNOW, Amazon Video, and Google Play.

Was there any doubt who would be number one? The charismatic and moral President was universally liked by all The West Wing fans.

Happy streaming!
