Sky launches the Roku Powered Sky Online TV Box in Italy

Sky today launched the Sky Online TV Box in Italy. Italy is the fourth European country where Roku Powered products are now available after launching earlier with Sky in the UK in 2013 and late last year with Sky in Germany and Austria. Sky Italia leverages the Roku Powered streaming players plus the entire Roku streaming platform to deliver its Sky Online OTT service to consumers.

The Sky Online TV Box is a Roku Powered streaming player that enables consumers to stream content from Sky Online and other popular streaming services to their TV. On top of the Sky Online OTT service customers can also select additional apps from the Sky Online TV Box App Store. There are various apps available at launch including Vimeo, Red Bull TV, VEVO, Facebook, WSJ Live and the Roku Media Player that allows consumers to stream media from a computer or USB storage device to their TV. Over time more apps are expected to arrive in the Sky Online TV Box App Store. The Sky Online TV Box is available as of today in stores and online for €49,99 including 2 months of Sky Movies and Entertainment.

The Roku Powered program enables Pay TV service providers such as Sky to license the Roku streaming platform and gain access to a simple and intuitive user interface, ongoing software updates, a broad selection of streaming entertainment and low-cost streaming players.
