• Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (Movie) – Idris Elba plays the African National Congress legend who overcame apartheid to become the first black president of South Africa. Director Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl) chronicles Nelson Mandela’s journey from his childhood in a rural village via 27 years in solitary confinement through to his inauguration as the country’s president. • Confessions of a Copper (Series) – Exploring how life for once-omnipotent professionals has changed in the last 50 years, eight police officers reveal what it was like for them in the ‘good old days’, when they could do their job as they saw fit. Watch the first episode now on 4oD.
• The Secret Life of Pets (Series) – This delightful series gets under the sometimes leathery skin of our animal friends, exploring how we live with them, care for them and also rely on them to protect and defend as well as comfort us in our time of need.
