New Roku Smart Home updates you’ll love have arrived
It’s here—more ways to watch your kids, your pet, or the birds in the yard while you watch that cheesy (yet, oddly addicting) holiday movie. As the holiday season approaches, we’re excited to bring you new ways to stay connected and secure with Roku Smart Home.
In the fall, we introduced features that enhance how you view camera feeds on the biggest screen in your home—your Roku-powered TV. With Camera Carousel and expanded notifications, you can effortlessly monitor your home while enjoying your favorite holiday movies. Plus, Web View lets you access your camera feeds from any web device. And now, we’re adding an extra surprise to make your home even more festive and secure. Read on to discover the latest updates!
Roku Smart Home now includes:
- Camera Carousel: Automatically cycles through each camera feed on your TV, using motion detection to display the camera where the action is happening.
- More notifications on the TV: You’ve always been able to receive alerts on your phone when your camera detects pets, packages and people, but now you will have the option to get these notifications directly on the Roku-powered TV. Whether it’s your cat causing mischief or your baby waking up from a nap, you can now be instantly notified of events detected by your Roku Smart Home camera. Simply open settings to turn them on—included with your Camera subscription.
- Roku Smart Home Web View: Now you can conveniently monitor all camera feeds from one centralized location on any computer. Just visit cameras.roku.com in your browser.
Plus, an exciting new feature:
- Picture in Picture: Pin your camera feed to the TV screen while you stream your entertainment, so you never miss a moment of the action. This feature is compatible with all Roku indoor and outdoor wired cameras, and available on most 4K Roku Players and TVs.
Roku Smart Home makes the perfect holiday home command center
This holiday season, make the most of your Roku Smart Home products using our easy-to-set rules and automations. With a Roku Indoor Smart Plug, you can set a rule for your Christmas tree to light up when you get home and make it automatically turn off at bedtime. You can also sync your smart light strips to your holiday music and more, all in the Roku Smart Home mobile app. Or, if you’re on vacation, vacation mode intermittently turns on the lights to give the appearance of someone being home.
Roku Smart Home is a simpler way to a smarter home. Happy Holidays and Happy Streaming!
