Roku OS 7.7 includes updates and bug fixes to improve your entertainment experience when using supported Roku streaming devices. Below are highlights of our latest software release and the updates we’ve made to make your streaming experience more enjoyable.
* Note: Roku OS 7.7 will begin to roll out to select Roku devices starting today and is expected to be available on all supported Roku streaming players and Roku TV models by the end of August. A full list of supported devices is included below.
Roku OS 7.7 updates and bug fixes:
- Roku devices will now proactively notify you regarding loss of connectivity during streaming and direct you to network settings to update your connection. Click here for more information.
- When using Screen Mirroring on your Roku device, you now have more control over which devices to allow or block from connecting to your Roku device. Any time a Screen Mirroring session is attempted, you will now receive an on-screen prompt allowing you to accept or reject the session. You can also choose to “always accept” or “always reject” a particular device from connecting. Click here for more information on Screen Mirroring.
- All Roku TV models now support the More Ways to Watch feature. Click here for more information on More Ways to Watch.
- The USB media player on Roku TVs will now support playback of MPEG-1 and H.263 files.
- Fixed a bug in which closed captions would sometimes show upcoming text early.
- Added an on-screen warning message for Roku TVs to make it clear that pre-existing channel favorites lists will be deleted if you initiate a new channel scan for antenna TV.
- Addressed multiple bugs that caused audio, visual and/or crashing issues across a number of streaming channels.
- Fixed a bug that caused audio-visual sync issues for some channels when streaming on select Roku TV models.
- Introduced a number of improvements and bug fixes to improve the overall experience when using Audio Guide.

- Roku TV – All Roku TV models will run Roku OS 7.7
