Roku OS 11.5 adds new content discovery features to make your streaming experience better

Whether you’re searching for a new movie or continuing a show you’ve already started, discovering entertainment to stream on Roku devices is more convenient than ever with our latest software update.

Roku OS 11.5 introduces two updates to What to Watch—Continue Watching and an expanded platform-wide Save List—plus an all-new content discovery experience, The Buzz. The automatic software update also expands Bluetooth Private Listening and Roku Voice capabilities.

Roku home screen menu

  • The Buzz: The newest addition to the Roku home screen menu brings entertainment discovery to the biggest screen in the house. Quickly browse The Buzz for a collection of posts featuring trailers, interviews, and video clips from your favorite streaming channels. Engage with content by liking posts, following channels to stay up to date on the latest movies and shows, saving content to stream later, or immediately stream featured content.
  • Continue Watching: It’s easier than ever to resume streaming movies and shows with Continue Watching. Located within What to Watch on the Roku home screen menu, pick up where you left off streaming entertainment on channels including Netflix, HBO Max, Paramount+, and The Roku Channel.
  • Save List: Easily save movies and shows across channels on your Roku device with a press of a button to create a convenient collection of content to stream later. The platform-wide Save List is located within What to Watch on the Roku home screen menu as well as the Roku mobile app.
  • Roku Store: Found on the Roku home screen menu, Roku Store is an immersive content destination for browsing, searching, and adding free and paid channels to your device.

Roku audio

  • Bluetooth Private Listening: Pair wireless headphones from the Sound Settings menu to listen to streaming content with Bluetooth Private Listening compatible with the newest Roku Ultra, Roku Streambar, and Roku Streambar Pro.

Roku Voice

  • Now when you use your Roku voice remote, channels relevant to your search will display onscreen. From there, simply say or select the option you want to start streaming.

Content discovery

  • Live TV Categories: Easily discover Live TV content with new, easy-to-navigate content Categories within Roku’s Live TV Channel Guide. Browse through Categories to save favorite channels, resume recently watched content, or access Premium Subscriptions from The Roku Channel. Or, explore by genre including News, Sports, Movies, Kids, Entertainment, Crime and En Espanol to stream live TV on your Roku device.

Roku mobile app

  • Live TV Channel Guide button: See what’s streaming live on your Roku TV with a dedicated Live TV Channel Guide button on the mobile app remote.  With our new “Guide” button, you can instantly find live TV channels, browse live content, and search new Categories.
