Roku Originals drives record two-week streaming period
Rob HolmesHey Streamers! When we launched Roku Originals last month, we were excited to not only bring you amazing content but also bring it to you for free. In just a few short weeks, we’ve seen your incredible response to Roku Originals on The Roku Channel in the U.S., with millions of people streaming a Roku Original.
Today, we wanted to share some of the insights we’ve seen — and it’s all thanks to you. In the two weeks following the launch, you helped set an all-time 14-day record for unique accounts streaming The Roku Channel. During the period, many of you streamed Roku Originals more than any other content on The Roku Channel. In fact, the top ten most watched programs on The Roku Channel were all Roku Originals in this two-week period! Additionally, more than 1/3 of all accounts who streamed The Roku Channel streamed a Roku Original – streaming over nine episodes on average. We’re thrilled that all of you are just as excited about Roku Originals as we are. Thank you again for your continued support.
When we launched The Roku Channel in 2017, we wanted to make it easy for all of you to find great, free entertainment. Today, The Roku Channel features an expansive lineup of more than 40,000 free movies and television programs, 190+ free streaming television channels, a dedicated Kids & Family experience and Premium Subscriptions from dozens of content partners including EPIX, SHOWTIME, STARZ, and AMC+. We’re very proud to be able to bring this amazing content to all of you. It’s clear that Roku Originals is giving you great free entertainment from some of today’s biggest stars and we are excited to bring you even more Roku Originals later this year.
