The last two seasons have shown a new side to Bunchy. How do you see marriage and fatherhood changing your character?

I think marriage and fatherhood change any and every one. Let alone a man who was a professed “sexual anorexic” a year ago.

Bunchy is such a complex character. How has this role challenged you as an actor?

Bunchy has challenged me from the moment I read and got excited by Ann Biderman’s pilot script. The challenge for me was always…how to play his abusive backstory and struggle without leaning too hard on being a victim. So very grateful we have gotten the time to explore many facets now in season 4.

From Ian McShane, Katie Holmes, Hank Azaria and Lisa Bonet, there’s no lack of amazing guest stars on Ray Donovan. If you could invite anyone to guest star with you, who would it be?

A question we all get and near impossible to answer. I am not a “favorites” kind of guy. I am, however, a believer in things are in perfect order…the fact that we had the like of Ian McShane last year and Embeth Davidtz this year makes me happy.

In addition to acting, we know music is another passion of yours. Which is the most gratifying?

I love playing and making music. I can only say that both are supremely gratifying in moments and can also not be, depending on your mood and level of perfectionism in a given moment.

The cast seems like a tight knit group – they even made appearances in your music video! When the cameras aren’t rolling, what’s life like on the set with your co-stars?

We are all super tight. They came to support me for the LOVE video on a Saturday while we were in production still. We share a lot of laughs during our time between set ups but we are a heady bunch of actors that care so much about elevating each character, the show and each other. Life is good because there will always be insecurity but we so trust in each other’s honest feedback.

Ray Donovan has all the elements of a perfect TV series to binge-watch. What’s the last TV show you couldn’t stop watching?

Breaking Bad
