New Roku features

Your streaming experience only gets better with automatic software updates from Roku. Here’s what to expect in our latest update:

  • Root for your favorite sports team: “Favorite” the teams you’re interested in to track upcoming games from popular leagues. From NFL to NHL, the WNBA and beyond, conveniently browse live sporting events along with where to stream them.
  • Expanded Sports content: Additionally, the Sports experience will be expanding its offering to include motorsports in early 2024 and new sports content from Max in the coming weeks, which will join the list of currently supported channel partners across the platform.
  • Never miss a play with Sports Highlights: After the game, watch must-see clips and expert analysis, all within the Roku Sports experience.
  • Google Photos is now compatible with Roku Photo Streams: Connect your Google Photos account to share more of your special moments. When you create a new Roku Photo Stream, your TV turns into the biggest picture frame in your home.
  • Instant access to more Live TV: The Live TV Channel Guide is getting an upgrade, with personalized ordering of 400+ channels, as well as the removal of channel numbers to enable simpler browsing.
  • New Music Video Playlists on The Roku Channel: Your TV is a boombox, too. From Relaxing Jazz to Classic Rock and Boy Bands, choose from more than 150+ new Music Video Playlists for on-demand streaming with The Roku Channel.
  • What to Watch Categories: We are making updates within What to Watch to get you to the entertainment you love faster. In the coming weeks, you’ll be able to browse by categories including TV Shows, Movies, New & Popular, Free, and more, and start streaming with ease.

These new features will roll out to supported devices in the coming months. For more information on the latest Roku software releases, see the Roku OS 12.5 release notes.
