New Releases and Recommendations for Oct. 14
With Roku at the helm, there is always something good on TV. Here are some new releases (and recommendations) to make your weekend a little better. As always, if you have a suggestion on the perfect lazy Sunday flick, please post ’em in the comments. Happy streaming!




Netflix New Releases:
- The Walking Dead Season 1– AMC’s epic series follows police officer Rick Grimes as he leads a group of survivors in a world overrun by zombies (2010)
- Casino Jack– Kevin Spacey, Barry Pepper and Kelly Preston star in this political corruption tale based on the real life of super-lobbyist Jack Abramoff (2010)
- The Big Lebowski– The cult-comedy classic from the Coen brothers, with an all-star cast led by none other than The Dude, is now on Netflix! (1998)
Hulu Plus New Releases:
- Up All Night– A new comedy with Maya Rudolf, Christina Applegate and Will Arnett that tackles the cliche of working life and raising children (2011)
- Last Man Standing– ABC brings Tim Allen back in a manly-man sitcom, that just might be the biggest hit of the season (2011)
- Revenge– A clever drama that brings some vengeance to the Hamptons (2011)
Crackle New Releases:
- Girl, Interrupted– A superbly acted and thought-provoking flight over the cuckoo’s nest that netted Angelina Jolie an Oscar (1999)
- Single White Female– A whip-smart take on the stalker-from-hell genre emboldened by a creepily inspired turn from Jennifer Jason Leigh (1992)
- About Last Night– The Brat Pack grows up in a sudsy yet smart greed-decade defining rom-com made memorable by Rob Lowe’s lustrous mullet (1986)
Amazon Instant Video New Releases:
- Green Lantern– Protectors of peace and justice, the Green Lantern Corp must rely on their newest and only human recruit, Hal Jordan, to save Earth (2011)
- Horrible Bosses– Three friends, harassed, insulted, and terrorized by their bosses, devise a convoluted but foolproof plan to rid the world of their respective employers…permanently (2011)
- The Tree of Life– An impressionistic story of a Midwestern family in the 1950’s. Stars Brad Pitt and Sean Penn (2011)
