New Releases and Recommendations for Feb.17

It’s a great weekend to stream! Whether it’s marathon sessions of That ’70’s Show or Downton Abbey or some new releases from Amazon, there is plenty to watch over the three-day weekend. Netflix New Releases:

  • That ’70’s Show– Need a marathon of awesome? Binge watch with all eight seasons of one of the greatest comedies ever. Just remember to hydrate (2005)
  • Bag of Bones– Pierce Brosnan battles a vengeful ghost for the life of a little girl.  Think Stephen King meets House with a hint of Bond  (2011)
  • Eight Men Out– A NYT critic’s pick, John Sayles’ adaptation of the 1919 Black Sox scandal stars John Cusak and D.B. Sweeney (1988)

Hulu Plus New Releases:

  • Wipeout– Winter Wipeout does’t get better than this! Contestants encounter Garry the Eskimo as they tackle the Arctic Circle (2012)
  • The Office:Tallahassee– Dwight takes his team to Tallahassee to conceive a new chain of Sabre retail stores (2012)
  • Parks and Recreation: Dave Returns– While seeking an endorsement from the police chief, Leslie and Ben run into Leslie’s old flame, Dave (2012)

Crackle New Releases:

  • Silent Rage– Before Chuck Norris was tough guy Walker, Texas Ranger he was tough guy Dan Stevens Texas Sheriff. Did you know that sharks have a week dedicated to Chuck Norris? (1982)
  • The 6th Day– Two Schwarzeneggers are far better than one as Arnold goes back to the future in a smart, action-filled return to form (2000)
  • 21– Kevin Spacey, Jim Sturgess and Kate Bosworth raise the stakes in one of the most gripping gambling flicks ever dealt (2008)

Amazon Prime Instant Video New Releases:

  • Five Minutes of Heaven– Acclaimed director Oliver Hirschbiege delivers an intense political thriller inspired by the life of former UVF member Alistair Little (2009)

  • Misery– James Caan stars as a famous romance writer who is “rescued” from a car crash by an obsessed fan in this thrilling Stephen King adaptation (1990)

  • The Rum Diary– Bruce Robinson’s adaptation of the novel by Hunter S. Thompson follows journalist Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp) on an alcohol-fueled journey across the island of Puerto Rico (2011)
  • Dream House– Some say that all houses have memories. For one man, his home is the place he would kill to forget (2011)
  • Downton Abbey: Season 2– With the wedding approaching, there’s excitement in the air – but will Branson’s plans rattle everyone? (2012)
