New Releases and Recommendations for Feb. 10
The days are getting longer and I swear I saw the sun today! Here are some not-quite-spring, but not-quite-winter picks. As always, if you have a suggestion on the perfect lazy Sunday flick, please post ‘em in the comments. Happy streaming!




Netflix New Releases:
- Beetlejuice– Possibly Michael Keaton’s best role, outside of Mr. Mom of course! Remember why he is the ghost with the most in this Oscar-winning Burton classic (1988)
- License to Drive– As long as we’re in the ’80’s, you have to watch a “Corey flick” and this one has them both – Feldman and Haim (1988)
- Circus– This magical documentary covers the Big Apple Circus for an entire travelling season. It proves clowns really are creepy…it’s not just me (2010)
Hulu Plus New Releases:
- Modern Family: Me? Jealous?– Claire thinks Phil’s new business partner is blatantly inappropriate (2012)
- The River– ABC’s new horror hit. Catch the first episode – 6 months after Dr. Cole goes missing in the jungle, his wife journeys to find him (2012)
- New Girl: The Landlord– Jess befriends the loft’s landlord and things devolve from there (2012)
Crackle New Releases:
- A River Runs Through It– A pre-superstar Brad Pitt makes a movie about fly-fishing more entertaining than the real thing (1992)
- Stripes– Bill Murray and Harold Ramis team together for the first time to define the slacker comedy genre (1981)
- Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby– Will Ferrell elevates blowhard idiocy into hillbilly high art in a Southern-fried NASCAR lampoon where nothing is sacred (2006)
Amazon Prime Instant Video New Releases:
- Alexander– The epic story of Alexander the Great, the King of Macedonia, who over an eight year period managed to conquer 90% of the known world of his time by age 25 (2004)
- Empire of the Sun– The story of a young boy’s determination to survive in the face of the devastating events that transpire after Japan invades Shanghai on December 8, 1941 (1987)
- Before Sunset– Nine years ago, two strangers met by chance, spent a night together in Vienna, and parted before sunrise. Now, they’re about to cross paths again (2004)
Amazon Instant Video New Releases:
- A Very Harold And Kumar Christmas– When Kumar accidentally burns down Harold’s father-in-law’s prized tree on Christmas Eve, the two embark on another ill-advised journey to New York City to replace it (2011)
- The Whistleblower– A drama based on the experiences of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska cop who served as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia and outed the U.N. for covering up a sex scandal (2011)
- Real Steel-A riveting white-knuckle action ride that’ll leave you cheering. Did I mention robots boxing? (2011)
