New Releases and Recommendations for Dec. 23

  • That Thing You Do– Tom Hanks wrote and directed this rockin’ tribute to American bubblegum pop in the wake of the British Invasion  (1996)
  • Cosmos: The Complete Collection– Renowned astronomer Carl Sagan explores the mysteries of the universe in his award-winning series, now available for streaming (1980)
  • Norm MacDonald: Me Doing Stand-up- The creator of the original “Saturday Night Live” Jeopardy sketch reclaims the stand-up stage in a hilarious one-hour special (2011)

Hulu Plus New Releases:

  • Who’s Still Standing– Contestants compete to be the last one standing in a heated trivia battle where losers are dropped through the floor (2011)
  • Late Night with Jimmy Fallon– Comedian Louis CK and the queen of soul, Aretha Franklin, pay Jimmy a visit (2011)
  • Community– A choir director convinces the study group to sing and dance for the holidays (2011)

Crackle New Releases:

  • Bewitched– Samantha and Darrin Stephens are a normal couple, except for one small detail – she’s a witch  (1964)
  • Nowhere to Run– Jean-Claude Van Damme and Rosanna Arquette star in this action thriller about an escaped convict (1993)
  • The International– A dogged Interpol agent (Clive Owen) attempts to bring down a powerful international arms dealing ring (2009)

Amazon Instant Video New Releases:

  • Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid– Paul Newman and Robert Redford set the standard for the “buddy film” in this classic western (1969)
  • Super Troopers– The snozzberries taste like… snozzberries! Five Vermont state troopers screw up on the job (2002)
  • Mallrats– Two brokenhearted college kids seek solace at the mall in this cult classic starring Jason Lee, Shannen Doherty and Ben Affleck (1995)
