It’s time to lace up those skates and take to the ice, as the 2022-2023 NHL season is here! After the Colorado Avalanche shut down the hopes of the Tampa Bay Lightning for a Stanley Cup three-peat, all eyes are on them to see if they can do it again.

This season, Disney’s networks (including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN+, and ABC) will air 103 exclusive games, while TNT will have 62 games – and you can catch them all on your Roku device. Where to stream NHL games

1. Hulu

Since most of this year’s NHL action will appear on ESPN, the Hulu + Live TV bundle package with ESPN+ and Disney+ is an especially attractive option. This will also give you access to TNT and ABC’s NHL broadcasts.

2. YouTube TV

YouTube TV is an option many sports fans turn to because of their unlimited DVR feature. Their basic live TV package will get you all of ESPN, ABC, and TNT’s NHL broadcasts, making this a great option for hockey fanatics.

3. DIRECTV STREAM

Formerly AT&T TV, DIRECTV STREAM (also known as D STREAM) has a basic “Entertainment” package that includes local channels, ESPN, as well as TNT, covering all your hockey needs.

4. Sling TV

Sling TV’s Orange and Blue plans ($35/mo separately or $50/mo for both) give you access to ESPN, ABC, and TNT, so it’s a solid choice to watch all of the nationally broadcast games.

5. fuboTV

With a ton of sports channels and 1000 hours of cloud DVR space included in their basic “Pro” package, it’s easy to see why fuboTV is a favorite among sports fanatics. But while you’ll be able to see NHL action on ESPN and ABC, the streaming service no longer carries TNT.

Regional NHL sports networks

If you’re a fan of your local team, most of the games will be broadcast on your RSN (regional sports network, and you can stream local NHL games in one of a few different ways:

  • Search if your local RSN has a channel in the Roku Channel Store and login with a participating pay TV provider (An example would be NBC Sports)
  • Bally Sports+ is a new streaming service that lets you stream live games and programming from your favorite local team if they’re a part of the Bally Sports group.
  • The live TV services listed above offer select RSNs. Coverage varies, so check their websites to see what’s available in your area.

Over-the-air NHL broadcasts

Did you know that a ton of live, local television, is available via free, over-the-air HD broadcasts? If you have a Roku TV, you’re in luck. All you have to do is connect the HDTV antenna of your choice to the “Ant/Cable In” connector on the back of your Roku TV and follow the setup instructions to start streaming.
