How to celebrate mom this Mother’s Day with your Roku player

Hey Streamers, Mother’s Day is just around the corner! When there aren’t enough words in the world to express how much you appreciate Mom, the best way is to show her. My Mom is the type of person who can’t sit still. She’s always up and about, tidying the house, tending to the dogs or caring for her garden. So this Mother’s Day, I thought why not honor the busiest person I know with a gift that will keep up with her – a Roku player. Here’s how I used the Roku 3 player to make my mom feel like she’s the queen of her castle.

1. Give mom TV on her terms — My mom is a very discerning woman – she knows what she wants. When I showed her how she could follow her favorite shows and movies in the Roku Feed AND get notified when there are updates or if the price drops, it was like showing her my first A. Gold star for me.

2. Offer mom options — From cars, to crafting, to gadgets and tech, my mom has always had a wide variety of interests. Discovering there were more than 3,000 channels available in the Roku Channel Store definitely made my Mom feel like she could sit back and explore.

3. Make mom her own retreat — Getting my mom to relax is one of the most difficult things to do but when I pulled up her favorite music stations on Pandora, she was able to put up her feet and find some bliss.

4. Take mom for a walk down memory lane — When I was a child, new photos of me were the highlight of my mom’s week. Now she prefers photos of her other babies. My mom was more than excited to see Bailey, Sasha and Brewster in their favorite outfits up on her big screen. I’m not bitter…

5. Share the gift of quiet — As a doting babysitter for my cousin’s daughter, Isabella, my Mom often spends hours listening to Bella’s favorite shows, which often means endless hours of nursery rhymes – ON REPEAT. When I showed her the private listening feature, I swear I saw a tear in her eye.

This year, with the help of a Roku player, I showed my mom how she comes first. I think I definitely solidified my place as her favorite – never mind that I’m an only child! 😉 No matter what Roku player you choose, mom will appreciate that you’ve taken the time to celebrate her.
