Apparently we are soon due to experience another ‘weatherbomb’ or ‘thunderbomb’– whatever you wish to call it – it’s not going to be nice outside this weekend. So what better excuse do you need to stay in for the ultimate TV marathon?

Here are our recommendations for you this week. Let us know what you watch!

pretty-little-liars

  • Left Behind (Movie) – Philandering pilot Rayford Steele plans to seduce his flight attendant at a U2 concert after a flight from New York to London. However, as soon as the plane is over the Atlantic it receives a slight jolt…and all the kids onboard – as well as a smattering of religious believers – vanish into thin air. Directed by former stunt man Vic Armstrong, this off-kilter thriller is centred on the religious “rapture” where good Christians are gathered up ahead of the Second Coming. Catch it on Sky Store now.
  • The Undateables (Series) – Tim, who has a mild learning disability, meets Laura. Essex boy Ali has achondroplasia, and has never had a girlfriend. And will love blossom when raver Alec meets research scientist Charlie? Catch the first two episodes of the new series now on 4oD.
  • The Guest (Movie) – Still struggling over the loss of their oldest son, Caleb, to the war in Afghanistan, the Peterson family finds some solace when an unexpected visitor knocks on their door. David, a steely eyed and charismatic soldier who was recently discharged, is welcomed into their home when he comes to fulfil a promise he made to his fallen comrade. Though he appears to be the perfect houseguest, a mysterious and sinister chain of events causes Anna to question whether David is actually whom he claims to be. Watch it on Google Play.
  • Waterloo Road (Series) – School-based drama. It is the start of Waterloo Road’s new bike bank scheme, which Vaughan hopes will show the school off to the community. But Scott Fairchild has other ideas. Catch up now on BBC iPlayer.
  • The Rover (Movie) – Set in the near future, the world of The Rover is one where mankind’s greed and excesses have pushed civilization to the breaking point. Rent it now from the Sainsbury’s Entertainment Channel.
  • The Real Housewives of Cheshire (Series) – The latest reality series from new channel, itvBe. As one of the biggest nights in the social calendar approaches, it is a whirlwind of cryotherapy treatments and last-minute dress fittings. Watch it now on ITV Player.
  • The Secrets of the Tea Chimps (Documentary) – This documentary brings this incredible story up to date, catching up with Choppers, one of the last surviving tea chimps, at Twycross Zoo. When Choppers is reunited with the woman who saved her life, it seems that she remembers more than expected from her performing days. Catch it now on Demand 5.

Golden Oldie:

  • Breakfast at Tiffany’s (Movie) – Audrey Hepburn delivers her most winningly spirited cinema performance as fun loving New York party girl Holly Golightly. George Peppard is the struggling writer living in New York who slowly falls for his eccentric neighbour’s charms while Martin Balsam plays Holly’s deserted husband Buddy. Romantics will fall for the final chase in the rain for the beloved Cat while it would take a hard heart not to be moved by Hepburn’s 1961 Oscar-winning rendition of Moon River. A classic available on Now TV.
