Canadian streamers, celebrate Streaming Day with Roku all week long! (2016)
Friday, May 20 is Streaming Day and we’re celebrating all week! We shipped the Roku player, the very first device to stream Netflix to the TV on May 20, 2008. This innovative streaming player forever changed how people consume entertainment, so much so, that it’s been dubbed as one of the most influential gadgets of all time by Time. We take this time of year to celebrate advancements in TV and that all TV will be streamed.
It’s also the perfect time to stream your heart out and enjoy our terrific discounts. Many of you joined us in celebrating Streaming Day in the years past. We loved hearing about your ambitious streaming plans and how you fully embraced the streaming lifestyle for National #StreamingDay! This year we urge you to stream like you’ve never streamed before! Here’s how you can join in on the streaming festivities this year:
- Stream proudly! Invite friends over for a streaming party, catch up on all those TV shows you’ve been meaning to watch or play hooky and enjoy a movie marathon. Just be sure to tell us how you’re celebrating with #StreamingDay and we might share it. 🙂
- Show the world you’re a streamer. Upload one of our fun profile images to your social media accounts and spread the streaming word.
- Celebrate with a great deal. With Father’s Day and graduation coming up, there’s no better gift than the gift of streaming. Hey, we’re all for self-gifting too. Save $10 on all new Roku streaming players, including the new Roku Streaming Stick – visit Roku.com and participating retailers until 5/20/16.
Needless to say, you have a busy streaming week ahead! Tell us how you’re celebrating #StreamingDay.
Happy Streaming Day!
