One of the great things about your Roku TV or Roku streaming player is that your experience always stays fresh with automatic software updates providing new features! And because we have been adding some nifty features lately we thought we’d highlight them in case you haven’t tried them out yet!

Mobile app remote
Can’t find your remote? Did you leave it in the fridge again? No worries, we have an app for that! The Roku mobile app for Android and iOS offers a companion experience and can act as a remote control, enable voice search or provide an on-screen keyboard. It is available for iOS and Android devices, make sure you download it and give it a try!

Private listening
Private listening allows you to listen to your streaming audio as loud as you’d like by plugging your headphones in to your remote on the Roku 3 (4230) and Roku Premiere+ and Roku Ultra. It is a great feature if you want to watch an action movie at night and don’t want to wake up the rest of the household, or hand a pair of headphones to your little ones so you don’t have to hear Peppa Pig over and over again.

Through the Roku mobile app, private listening is now also available with the Roku Streaming Stick (3600), Roku Express, Roku Express+ Roku Premiere, Premiere+, Ultra and even your Roku TV! Just open the app on your Android or iOS mobile device and pop in a pair of headphones…magic!

Casting
Easily share photos, videos, and music from your compatible smartphone or tablet right to your TV. Enjoy fantastic slideshows and movies starring you and your friends and loved ones. You and your friends can even share and enjoy photos from your mobile devices on the big screen at the same time.

But wait there is more! From the Netflix and YouTube apps on your smartphone or tablet, you can also cast straight to your Roku streaming player or Roku TV. Browse through the app to see what’s available to stream, select a clip, show or movie and simply stream it to your Roku streaming device by clicking the ‘cast’ button!

Search
Imagine: you sit on the couch wondering what else to watch… Roku Search to the rescue! On your Roku streaming player or Roku TV you can now use Roku Search and find new entertainment to watch. You can search for movie titles, tv shows, actors and directors and discover what tv show or movie is streaming where. We do continuously add new channels to allow you to search through even more great content!

Stream on the go
The Hotel and Dorm Connect feature allows you to easily take your entertainment on the go. Move your Roku streaming player* to different HDTVs in your home or take it to a friend’s house. Hotel & Dorm Connect** even lets you stream on the go, in your dorm or hotel room. Just use your Roku remote and your smartphone, tablet, or laptop with a web browser to connect your Roku player, sign in, and start streaming.
