Guest Mode: An easy way for visitors to use stream using their own subscriptions

Setting your guests up for streaming and managing their login details on Roku devices is easy with a feature called Guest Mode. Guest mode makes providing on-property entertainment personalized and private for guests, as well as saving time and money for short term rental owners, property managers, and small boutique hotels.

With Guest Mode, your guests won’t have access to your personal streaming channel accounts or be able to use your Roku account to make purchases. Instead, they can safely use their own subscriptions and not have to worry about remembering to sign out before they leave.

Recent updates to Guest Mode make the feature easier to use than ever. Read on to learn more.

When you enable Guest Mode on your Roku device, your guests can sign in to apps using their own account credentials. Your guests’ credentials will be automatically removed from the device on the date they specify.

With the rollout of Roku OS 12, Guest Mode is even simpler to use:

  • Easier to enable: To enable Guest Mode, simply navigate to Settings > Guest Mode.
  • Updated guest welcome flow: Revamped welcome screen, including a new customizable host message and improved calendar usability.
  • Support for international guests: Guests can now select their preferred language by pressing the * button within the welcome flow.
  • Better remote device management: As a host, it’s no problem if you’re not physically on the property. You can easily manage enabling or disabling guest mode, updating the welcome message, or manually signing out a guest when needed using our new web and mobile features.
