5 movies to watch starring the Joker

Have you already seen the new Joker film? With rave reviews, we’re already getting our Joker costumes ready for Halloween at Roku HQ.

There’s been more iterations of the Joker than you can shake a stick at, and we have a list of where you can watch a list of our favourites all through your Roku streaming device.

1. Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker

After revealing that the Joker did not die, the young Batman must face the archenemy of his mentor, Bruce Wayne. And not only that, he also discovers an incredible secret that has been hidden since the last time Batman faced the Joker and in which he almost lost his life.

2. Batman: The Dark Knight

One of the most memorable appearances of the Joker, and a prime example of how to do villain justice. Played by the late Heath Ledger, in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ we see the Joker sow chaos throughout Gotham City and strike terror into the populace.

3. Suicide Squad

Jared Leto reinterprets the classic villain with an intense green dye and intricate tattoos. In ‘Suicide Squad’ we see how the US government has no options to deal with an alien invasion and decides to recruit eight supervillains in exchange for granting them their freedom, what could go wrong?

4. Batman

One of the most memorable interpretations of the Joker was performed by Jack Nicholson in this 1989 film directed by Tim Burton.

In it, we see the origin story of Batman, played by Michael Keaton, in his tireless quest to find the murderer of his parents while cleaning up crime in Gotham City. He could never have imagined that this villain with his mocking laughter, pale face and striking costume would be his worst nightmare.

5. The Lego Batman Movie

One for all ages, in this spinoff of The Lego Movie, we follow Batman’s story against the Joker but in set of course in a world made of Lego pieces! The lonely Bruce Wayne has a life of luxury and fame, but everything changes when he decides to educate his adopted son. When the police decide that they should work as a team, how can he deal with these changes and at the same time face the friendly villain, the Joker?
