As the most well-known and longest-running network dedicated to sci-fi, it’s no surprise that SYFY would be at the top of our list. While you’ll need to sign in with a TV subscription to unlock the full features of their app, the basic version still offers a hefty amount of clips, highlights, and even full episodes.
The FilmRise collection of genre-specific channels never disappoints, and their sci-fi offering is no exception. With a rotating selection of more than 50 full-length features, there’s something here to satisfy every science fiction lover.
Sci-Fi Movies & TV by Fawesome
Fawesome offers another selection of channels with genre-focused programming, and their sci-fi entry is among their best. They’ve got thousands of free movies and TV shows and highlight an impressive selection of subgenres from apocalyptic stories, future noir, space opera, and more.
With an innovative lineup that’s passionately dedicated to all things science fiction, Dust is your destination for shows like the celebrated Weird or What? with William Shatner, and thought-provoking movies like Prospect and When Jeff Tried to Save the World. They also offer original series like ALT, short films you won’t find anywhere else, podcasts, and even relaxing and meditative ambient programming called Dust Flow, designed to help you truly space out.
This linear stream offers an impressive lineup of sci-fi movies and TV that will satisfy any fan of the genre. Catch classic films like David Cronenberg’s The Fly and Brian De Palma’s Mission to Mars, as well as beloved series like The X Files and Quantum Leap.
While not entirely focused on sci-fi, the Shout! Factory home video imprint has satisfied classic TV and film buffs for more than a decade, and their dedicated channel on Roku continues to do the same. Their huge library of beloved programming includes a ton of sci-fi, including one of my favorite shows of all time, Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Still can’t get enough of the strange and unusual? There’s plenty of sci-fi and more on our new on Netflix list this month – check it out!
