You can view all your digital photos on your HDTV in the comfort of your living room. Create exciting slideshows of your favorite photos, or browse through and show off the best ones. Zoom and Rotate commands are available at the press of a button. You can display any image as wall art, and take advantage of screen saver and auto-repeat options to help prevent burn-in. You can even access image files stored on your PC or Mac over your home network. All of these features are as simple to use as pressing a few buttons on your remote control.
Most photos are naturally 4:3. So when displaying them in 16:9, you can choose whether
they want the photo displayed with black bars on the side ("fit") or zoomed in so
the picture is cropped on the top/bottom ("fill"). The HD1000 also offers a "SmartDisplay"
option which will automatically choose between "fit" and "fill" presentations, depending
upon the photo's size and aspect ratio. You can find more tips about Photo Viewing
on
our photo tips page .
Roku offers several Art Packs to display on your PhotoBridge HD. These include The
Classics, Nature, Aquarium, Clocks, Space, and Holidays. With Art Packs, you can
turn your home into a digital art gallery by displaying inspiring images on your
HDTV. Some of the Art Packs contain LiveArt™ - life-like looping MPEG2 video clips.
All you have to do is pop in the CompactFlash card containing an Art Pack and choose
an image to display. You can also run slideshows with the Art Packs, just like you
can with your personal digital photos. To display the LiveArt video clip, play it
from the slide show, then press pause. It will continue to play until you press
play again. If you plan to leave the same image up for a long time, verify your
display is not subject to "burn-in" .
In order to speed up or slow down the slide show, follow these steps: Press the
Select button during the slide show. Press the Left or Right navigation buttons
to select the desired Delay rate between images. Press the Down navigation button
to highlight "Done", and press Select to keep the change.

Yes. To update to 2.0 software or earlier, simply download an upgrade file from
our web site and copy it onto a CompactFlash card. Insert the card in your PhotoBridge
HD and reset the unit by holding the power button for a few seconds. The unit will
upgrade to the new software and start right up. (Note, SmartMedia or other cards
won't work for booting the unit. If you don't already own a CF card reader, one
can be purchased for about $20 at most electronics and computer stores.) After you
install software V 2.0, you can download software updates directly to your PhotoBridge
HD from the Internet, provided your unit is networked with an active Internet connection.
The PhotoBridge HD currently supports file sharing from Unix or Linux servers that run late versions of Samba. The HD1000 has been extensively tested with Samba version 2.2.8a on Red Hat Linux 7.3, 8.0, and 9.0, but other versions should work as well.
There is a third-party program that one of our customers has created that you may want to try before you purchase an application to convert files. For this and other programs created by developers using the free Roku software development kit, click here.
Currently, static IP is not supported in software with the PhotoBridge HD. However, if you are technically inclined and want to set up a PhotoBrige HD with a static IP address, please click here to download the instructions in PDF.
