Questions

  • What is the Roku streaming media player and how does it work?
The Roku player streams tons of movies, TV shows, live and on-demand sports, music and more right to your TV. It's a simple little box that uses your Internet connection to bring thousands of your favorite titles, teams, and tunes (even brand new releases) to you with no extra monthly bills, no PC, and no hassle. We even built in Wifi so you can connect your Roku to any TV anywhere in your house.

  • What can I watch on Roku? Are there monthly fees?
You can watch lots of things on Roku totally free - from cool independent channels to re-broadcasts of your most trusted news shows and more and Roku does not charge an additional monthly fee so you can take advantage of a ton of great content for free once you’ve purchased the Roku player.

Some of the channels do require subscriptions, but there aren't any extra fees to watch on Roku and many of these subscriptions give you access to content on a mobile device, on your computer, and now on your TV via the Roku player. For example, Netflix, with thousands of titles available to watch instantly and on demand, is available from just $8.99 per month. An MLB.TV subscription gives you access to thousands of live and on-demand Major League baseball games. Other channels, like UFC and Amazon Video On Demand offer pay-per-view watching for their live and on demand programming.

  • What do I need to hook it up?
Roku uses your Internet connection, so you'll want high-speed broadband for the best experience. We recommend at least 1.2Mbps, but for live events, like UFC events and Major League Baseball, you’ll want at least 3 Mbps and for HD viewing we recommend 5 Mbps or more.

The cables you need to connect Roku to most television sets are included in the box. However, if you're going to be watching in HD or using the digital sound outputs of your Roku player, you'll need additional cables. The Roku premium cable pack includes one each of HDMI, component, and optical digital cables for just $19.99.

  • If I order, how will it ship and when will it get here?
We always ship your order as soon as possible. Orders placed before 11 AM Pacific on weekdays will be shipped out of our warehouse the same day. Orders placed after 11 AM PT on weekdays, and on Saturdays and Sundays, will be shipped the following business day. For all shipping options, holidays do not count as business days. Once your order ships, you'll receive an email with any available tracking information.

*Ground Shipping uses US Postal Service Priority Mail, which takes 3-5 business days depending on your zip code. US Postal Service Priority Mail delivers to residential and business addresses, including P.O. boxes and A.P.O./F.P.O. addresses, Monday through Saturday. Transit times are estimates and not guaranteed.

*FedEx 2-Day shipping takes 2 business days and is delivered only Monday through Friday to residential and business addresses. NOTE: FedEx does not guarantee on-time delivery between December 18-24.

*FedEx Standard Overnight shipping: orders made Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) before 11 AM PST will be delivered to business or residential addresses the following business day. Not available to Alaska or Hawaii. NOTE: FedEx does not guarantee on-time delivery between December 18-24.

  • How does the 30-day money back guarantee work?
We want you to be totally satisfied with your Roku player. Return it within 30 days of your purchase, and we'll give you your money back. If you see your same Roku player somewhere for less money, let us know, and we'll make sure you receive the lowest price. Shipping cost is not covered by the Roku 30-day money back guarantee.

All Roku players are also covered by a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects. If you want to be worry-free for even longer, you can purchase an extended warranty that will double that to two years.

You can pause, fast forward, rewind, or return to where you left off anytime.

To use Roku, you need a high-speed Internet connection with a speed of at least 1.2 Mbps (such as mid-level DSL). You may also need a wired or wireless router if you are unable to connect the player directly to your cable or DSL modem.

Wirelessly Wonderful

All Roku players come with excellent wireless performance. The HD-XR model takes it further with Wireless-N dual-band, designed for next generation high-speed networks. Wireless-N extends range significantly -- up to twice that of common Wi-Fi devices, when paired with a Wireless-N router. So the HD-XR can deliver HD video to more rooms in your home, now and in the future.

High Def, Delivered

The Roku HD and HD-XR models are capable of streaming a growing collection of High Definition movies and shows -- thousands of choices in all, with more being added weekly. All you need is an internet speed of 5 Mbps or more, and you'll be watching in HD to your heart's content.
