Overview

Roku, Inc., is a privately held company located in Saratoga, Calif., and founded in 2002 by Anthony Wood, the inventor of the personal video recorder (PVR). Roku is a leading supplier of innovative and easy to use digital media products. Our best known consumer products are the Netflix Player by Roku and the stylish SoundBridge Internet radio line. The Netflix Player

Roku's newest compact consumer device provides seamless, direct streaming of video content from Netflix to consumers' TVs. It easily connects any TV or home entertainment system to the Internet (via Ethernet or Wi-Fi), instantly delivering over 12,000 movies and TV episodes offered by Netflix.

To improve the user experience, the player detects Internet bandwidth and makes on-the-fly adjustments to provide the highest quality picture and audio possible. For homes with wireless Internet, the player is Wi-Fi ready, offering the ultimate in placement flexibility.

The $99.99 player comes with its own remote control and with all the cables necessary to connect to a standard television. The player features composite, S-video, and component video outputs, stereo and optical audio outputs and an HDMI integrated audio / video connection.

SoundBridge Products

Roku is the North American market leader for network music and Internet radio products.

The Roku SoundBridge makes it easy to listen to a variety of Internet radio stations without even turning on a computer. The stylish aluminum SoundBridge is compatible with a customers speakers or stereo and has built-in support for Roku’s free radioroku.com tuning service, making it easy to listen to radio from around the world or across town.

The Roku SoundBridge Radio is a high-quality tabletop Wi-Fi radio with access to digital music as well as radio features and functions: AM/FM, alarm, headphone jack, built-in stereo speakers and sub woofer.

Radio Roku (www.radioroku.com) is an online directory of Internet radio stations, featuring more than 8,000 stations around the world. The site has a customizable "widget dashboard" that offers browsing, search, live updates of available content and the ability to control the SoundBridge players on a home network.

Roku is the leading U.S. provider of high-quality, solid-state media players and products for the digital signage market. The company recently expanded these offerings to include the European market with a sales office in France.

The BrightSign Platform

Roku BrightSign media players offer the playback quality of a PC platform, and the ease of installation and use of a solid-state player. Specifically designed for digital signage and interactive kiosk applications, BrightSign is fully scalable from a simple one-screen implementation in a small store to a multi-screen, multi-site managed installation.

BrightSign media players connect to both standard VGA LCD monitors and high-end HD displays, and come loaded with other connectivity options such as component video, USB keyboard, analog or USB speakers, IR remote control, and Ethernet and serial ports. With its solid-state design, BrightSign products are rugged and comply with global safety standards.

In addition, BrightSign products support industry-standard video, image and audio content including: MPEG, BMP, JPEG, PNG, WAV and MP3 formats. BrightSign products feature playlist support for looping displays, as well as content scheduling to effectively target playback.
